Skype For Business: A Beta Version For SIP-Enabled PBX Is Ready For You Office

Skype for PBX

Skype for SIP is here! Now you can install Skype on your PBX device (SIP-enabled) and make/receive phone calls at the cheap Skype rates !

Skype for SIP is also compatible with mobile devices such as Nokia-N series and other sip-enabled handset.

It might be the perfect solution to cut  the costs for your business because  Skype to skype calls from and to office are completelty free, and outgoing calls are charged at SkypeOut rates.

The only thing to take care about is the bandwith. These are the pecifications to run Skype for SIP Pbx;

  • A SIP certified PBX/Gateway
  • Enough bandwidth to manage the voice traffic
  • An online Business Control Panel on Skype (free)

Skype for SIP could integrate mobile handset and normal phones in a single business communication system  and, as David Mould said in On SIP, Skype, FreePBX and Handsets;

it would certainly make life easier in the office … and save a mile or two of cabling running around the desks.
